Venice lawn care weed control has become very difficult now that Sarasota has passed stringent Sarasota fertilizer restrictions that compromise the health of the lawn, especially St. Augustine Grass. St. Augustine in my opinion is not worth the money nor the impact it has on our Sarasota environment especially our waterways, high nitrogen and pesticides, run into our water ways everytime we run our irrigation, or we have rain fall. Because of the polution of our water ways we can no longer put down fertilizer at will, reatrictions are no more than one pound of nitrogen per one thousand sq.ft. of turf. Florida legislation is coming up with even more restrictive application rates meaning St. Augustine is on its way out. I have replaced a lot of turf with Florida friendly landscape and lots of shade trees, shade trees along with good watering habits can reduce water consumption, along with reducing nitrogen run off and pesticides ruining our water ways.
