Lately I have been watching the turf in Venice turn to hay, because of the severe drought here in Venice. My customers say increase the water times on the irrigation controler and add an extra day, even though they know this is going against Sarasota county water restrictions. Most of all it is hurting everyone as a whole, the worse the drought the more conservitave we should be, consider removing turf and planting shade trees, or installing drought tolerant plants, coconut palms are an exelent choice, the more water we consume during drought the more harm we do to our water table, I moved here in 92 and the water table was about 12 ft. now i replace submerable pumps and the water table is at 20 ft. with more development and less rain fall we will never make up the deficit, we need to come to terms with the fact that large green lawns are a thing of the past
